OSR-11's Milt Markewitz publishes on-line book

Milt Markewitz writes, "I'd like to share a significant milestone in my OSR inspired learning. At the 2006 OSR conference I shared two constructs with Betty Sue Flowers and she encouraged me to write a book. Due to the organic nature of the material and the desire for the book to be a dynamic workbook, it is published on the web.

"The objective of the work is to help each of us grow both individually and collectively to find the will to do the difficult work to re-achieve balanced sustainability. The OSR learning that most influences the site is Appreciative Inquiry, living systems theory and the book 'Finite and Infinite Games' by James Carse.
I hope that many of you will join in the conversations following each chapter, and perhaps use the website as a foundation for your own work or learning group."

Faculty member Kellee Franklin offers two upcoming sessions

Bio-franklin02 OSR current students and graduates are invited to express your interest in a monthly interactive forum on reflective practices and an information session about pursuing a doctorate degree. Kellee Franklin (OSR-14 faculty) is planning both opportunities.

Inner Wisdom: Reflective Practices for Inspired Leadership -- This monthly session will provide an interactive forum for OSR students and graduates to discuss reflective readings, participate in contemplative practices, and engage in dialogue with visiting presenters designed to encourage self-exploration, self-awareness, and self-discovery. Sessions are expected to begin before the end of the calendar year.

Insights and Perspectives on Pursuing a Doctoral Degree -- This informational session has been developed as a result of many OSR students and graduates expressing an interest in pursuing a doctoral degree. A panel of individuals who have earned a doctorate from different academic institutions, and who serve in diverse professional fields, will participate in the session to provide participants with a variety of perspectives. The first session will take place after the first of the new year and additional informational sessions will be scheduled if there is continued interest.

Once a date and location have been identified, a notification will be e-mailed to interested participants. Please e-mail your interest and any ideas you might like to share to Kellee Franklin.

Riane Eisler event now offered for free!

Admission is now free for Riane Eisler's event on Wednesday, November 12 and I want encourage you to attend this unique opportunity.

I remember reading the Chalice and the Blade some years ago and still recall what a transformative book that was for me. Riane was and still is an important voice in our feminist history and future.  Her new book, The Real Wealth of Nations may be equally transformative particularly given the times we are currently living through.
