Green Festival needs Conversation Cafe facilitators
Join in the double excitement, fun, community and wisdom building of the Green Festival and Conversation Cafes as a celebration of Global Conversation Week. Seattle's City Council has just declared Seattle a City of dialogue and officially recognized Seattle Conversation Week.
This year's Green Festival on Saturday–Sunday, March 28–29 will include a great area dedicated to conversation. If you haven't experienced a conversation café — you'll find the simple, elegant yet powerful process takes us from small talk to BIG talk and creative meaning making as you address the important issues of our world.
Hosts are needed to help hold juicy conversations throughout the Festival. (Facilitators will be right near the workshops, in the wide hall just outside those rooms). The conversations may continue what was just explored in a workshop — or will begin with our classic, "What do you think is the most important question in the world today?"
In exchange for volunteering to cover a 3 hour shift, you will receive free tickets to the Festival (a $15 value) and you can attend an optional, free, face-to-face orientation / training to learn the Conversation Café process and how to adapt it at Green Festival: Sat, March 21, 1–3 pm at Greenlake Public Library, 7364 E. Greenlake Drive N in Seattle.
There will also be two phone orientations for hosts who are joining Conversation Week around the world. You could join one of those. Or just review the manual online, or watch the training video or show up at a Conversation Cafe. It's easy and does not require any training: it's self organizing!
The phone trainings:
Sat, March 14, 9–10:30 a.m. PST
Thu, March 19, 5–6:30 pm PST
To sign up for the phone orientations, send an email.
To join the Green Festival: Sign up now for a shift at the Green Festival -- be sure to add your email/phone no. as a comment and/or send a note to Jun, the coordinator from IONS Community Group.
