Gathering the clans - a message from the design team

Dear OSR cohorts and our community of friends,

Hopefully you have heard about an important upcoming event.  It's called:

“Gathering the Clans to Nourish the Community”

This fund raising event is scheduled for Saturday evening, December 10 at Seattle University.  It is an important part of the ongoing story of OSR and we look forward to seeing you there! Registration includes dinner.  Register today!

If you are not able to make it to this event we encourage you to make a year end donation to OSR.  Your donation of whatever amount will assist OSR in sustaining the important work we are doing in the world.  You can do this online or by check to OSR NW.  For questions or assistance contact Leslie Chamberlain.

We are also seeking volunteers to assist with helping us connect with each cohort.  Ideally we would have one key contact person per cohort. As Albie puts it, we want to create a small but MIGHTY web!  If you can help with this, email Albie Merrill.

Thank you!

Join Fritjof Capra and Linda Booth Sweeney on Thursday, November 10

Fritjof Capra and Linda Booth Sweeney, both authors, teachers and systems thinkers, will once again be in Seattle to work with our second year OSR cohort during the "Applying Living Systems Theory" course.

Linda and Frijof bring so much to our students' learning and in turn, our students influence and renew them as well.

Join us on Thursday evening, November 10 from 6 - 7:30 pm when Fritjof and Linda will share some of their insights and thinking with our greater community of alumni and friends.

Register today as space is limited.

Chris Clark, current student, started a systems journal blog!

As many OSR graduates are aware, one of their first assignments in the OSR program is to start a "systems thinking in action journal." This is a way to begin building the capacity to become a "system's thinker." Chris, a current student in the OSR 18 cohort, took it one step further and started a blog.

Take a minute to read the beginning's of Chris' blog.  Add a comment, offer insights, learn.

Way to go Chris!

Thank you Nikki for keeping our job opportunities section up to date!

I want to send out a huge thank you to Nikki Diaz-Cruz, graduate of OSR 16 for keeping our "job opportunities" section up to date on the OSR web site!  Nikki did this consistently and professionally for over 2 years.  This has helped numerous alumni and friends and even prospective students in their job search and in learning about the types of positions available in our field.  If you're not familiar with this resource, have a look and feel free to post new opportunities as well.

We now seek another committed volunteer to aid us in keeping this vital resource alive and thriving.  If you are interested, email Paula.  The time commitment is relatively small but it makes a big difference for so many.

Nikki
Thanks Nikki!
