Thank you Nikki for keeping our job opportunities section up to date!

I want to send out a huge thank you to Nikki Diaz-Cruz, graduate of OSR 16 for keeping our "job opportunities" section up to date on the OSR web site!  Nikki did this consistently and professionally for over 2 years.  This has helped numerous alumni and friends and even prospective students in their job search and in learning about the types of positions available in our field.  If you're not familiar with this resource, have a look and feel free to post new opportunities as well.

We now seek another committed volunteer to aid us in keeping this vital resource alive and thriving.  If you are interested, email Paula.  The time commitment is relatively small but it makes a big difference for so many.

Nikki
Thanks Nikki!

Check out a few images from the OSR conference

The 6th annual OSR conference held on June 18 was quite simply wonderful.  We were joined by Bill Grace who introduced his newest book, "Sharing the Rock, Shaping our Future through Leadership for the Common Good" as well as Bill Koenig, OSR Director, who shared with us highlights from his doctoral dissertation.

The OSR design team made up of several OSR graduates crafted an engaging day and workshop presenters touched us with new information, new questions and conversation.  From my own perspective, this was a relaxing, engaging and authentic conference.  All in OSR style!

Here for you to sense just a bit of the conference energy are a few pictures...

The Whole Wordle
Conference attendees were asked to capture what stood out for them at the end of each workshop.  We captured it all in one wordle!

OSR annual conference coming together! 14 workshops + 2 plenary speakers!

This year’s annual conference theme focuses on what it takes to sustain leadership – for ourselves, our organizations, and our communities – during a time of acute challenges, as well as over the longer term, as society changes rapidly and irrevocably.

We are excited to offer fourteen diverse and engaging workshops!  Over the next few weeks we will tell you more about the presenters and the topics that will be covered.

We are also thrilled to announce our two plenary speakers - Bill Grace and Bill Koenig will both speak at the OSR annual conference on June 18.

Bill Grace is the author of the soon to be released book, Sharing the rock: leadership for the common good. Parker Palmer, author of several books including A Hidden Wholeness writes,

"Bill Grace once had a powerful vision of a world at peace, of people sharing this rock we call Planet Earth. Equally important, he has a long-term track record. For years, he has helped create workplaces, institutions, and communities founded on values essential for global well-being. In this important and wonderfully well-written book, he shares his practical wisdom about how to achieve a just, peaceful, and sustainable world. May it be read and embraced by leaders of many sorts, from parents to teachers to CEOs. It is a book that could make a difference.”

Bill Koenig, Program Director & OSR Core Faculty, will join us to close the conference. Having just completed acquiring his PhD. with a dissertation titled Leadership for the Whole: In the Mythic Field of C. G. Jung’s Unconscious Processes, Bill will bring fresh insights to what it means to lead sustainably.

We invite you to come together for an event inspired by the last OSR Open Space Experience held November 13, 2010.  Many alumni seek to obtain work as designers and leaders of change within organizations and communities.  In the current economic environment, getting hired or obtaining a consulting contract is often more challenging than in the past.

Join OSR alumni, friends, current and prospective students. Discover new or improved ways to obtain the paid work you seek. Share encouragement, ideas and experiences with one another.  As Margaret Wheatley reminds us “Whatever the problem, community is the answer.”
